Locking/Unlocking/Keys/Master Keyholders

Access to the ne V3.0 restraints is controlled by a key holder just like a set of cuffs in real life would be.  The person with the keys has full control over the cuffs, the wearer (assuming they don’t hold the keys) may be given very limited access by the keyholder and any other person will have no access at all unless the keys are left on the cuffs.

Keys on cuffs

When the keys are left on the cuffs, anyone can take the keys from the cuffs and they will then have full access to the restraints.  The wearer also has full access to the cuffs with the exception of a couple of special features that are not available to the wearer. More on that later…..

Keys taken

With the keys taken from the cuffs, access is now limited to the holder of the keys and very limited access for the wearer.  If the keys are taken by someone other than the wearer the wearer will only have access to changing the colour of the cuffs (if permitted by the keyholder) and they can lock themselves in any lock position, however once locked they will be unable to unlock or change lock position without the keys.

Master keys

Master key holders are the one exception to this.  If a person is listed on your Master Keyholders list they will be able to take the keys from the cuffs even if someone else currently has the keys.  Of special note to the wearer is that you cannot prevent a master keyholder from taking control of your cuffs, so you should choose carefully who you allow this level of access.

A special feature of these cuffs is that the keyholder cannot be removed by ‘resetting’ the cuffs.  If someone takes your keys and disappears on you there is no way to get the keys back unless you enlist the help of a Master Keyholder – if you don’t have a Master Keyholder you will have to destroy the cuffs.
